Cebu City is back on restricted Quarantine again.
Over 60 and under 21 haven't left it here where I am.
It will be interesting when I can finally travel to an Immigration office to see what they say but at the moment I am 2 months outside Visa.
ACR-I card is still current though.
Not too many contracted locally here and only a few have died.
Saddest was a little baby.
Hopefully all you folk are okay.
All the best Denis

G'day Denis-NFA ..... yeah muddling through as best we can. Curfew ended Monday 15 June. Most national parks will be open from 1 July..... whether the two I want to visit will be on the list, time will tell. As in the Philippines, the situation is quite fluid; anything could happen!! I was surprised to see Victoria got another 21 cases overnight, yet Oz is allegedly all good to go. Well maybe not quite, though they seem to have a much more blasé attitude. The info is here somewhere re Philippines long stay visas......you are all on amnesty while the quarantine is in place so, I don't think there anything to be concerned about. Cheers bear

Hi, Denis, I contacted the B.O.I on their FB page on Monday and was told all offices were open but were subject to strict social distancing, otherwise, it was ok to walk in no appointment needed. Then the city officials moved the goalposts overnight again and put us back on a MECQ, Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine, now I cant visit the Mandaue office because of the various borders I would have to cross. I was due to renew my visa on 26 March plus my ACR card, but I believe I'm ok as I'm married to a Filipina and have a little girl Stay Safe Itsa

My understanding is in Manila at least the amnesty on Visa renewals continues until the 30th of June. After that penalties apply but the penalty is only 500 piso per month late fee, plus they force you to pay the express fee which is 1000 piso.
Manila is in General Community Quarantine until 30th June, so you CAN NOT enter or leave the city without a special permit and medicals, but you can travel within metro Manila. There is very limited point to point public transport services.
As you know Manila is one of the world's most densely populated cities and what is happening here is completely different to what might be happening in Palawan. The new confirmed cases seems to be increasing from between 300 and 600 daily, and I think it is fair to say the virus is entrenched in the populated areas like Caloocan and Quezon City.
The Government is in a difficult situation, a Zero-sum game, if they open things up the virus will spread more rapidly but if they don't open things up they will soon run out of funds to subsidize the poor and people will start going hungry. The Government has almost run out of welfare pesos already. Most of the people I have spoken to here would prefer to face Covid than starve.

We have had 364 cases, 243 recovered, 26 deaths and that leaves only 95 in hospital. But we are under a general community quarantine the same as Manila, but there you can get a beer. Here we have had a liquor ban for the last 3 months. So it's OK to have a glass of water with my meal, but if I have a beer or a glass of wine, I will get covid-19.

Yeah we had that here in Thailand and just ended this week although bars & pubs are still closed. Their reasoning was that having a beer creates groups of people getting close up. So me and my mate sitting in a restaurant with water is OK. But, yes if a beer replaced the water we may get it. I keep telling you; Politicians are not normal logical animals.

Aussie, a liquor ban. Do you mean San Miguel or Tanduay is banned? For example ? Is liqour still sold? How are the filipinos coping? Nofixxedadress and Ista, I think you guys go to just go in any way because they need to be renewed, I heard this on many you tube vlogs. Please update this thread with your story's about how you managed it, very interesting If you took the time to process the posts fully instead of going off all half cocked you'd know from aussiebernie you can get a beer in Manila so it's not a blanket ban per se, though prior to any relaxing it may have been. Same for itsmylife08 ; he's already explained he can't go to an office to get his extension because of being put back on a MECQ, Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine, so he cant visit the Mandaue office because of the various borders he would have to cross. I'm quite disappointed by the quoted post actually; it comes across to me, as condescending to members on the ground, bossy in telling them what YOU think they should do.....they are grown men more than capable of making their own decisions I'm sure. It's also presumptive, in that they would do as you propose and then report back in order to support your curiosity. As for the YouTube Vlogs.....many of them are done by narcissistic know it alls trying to strike fear into people and make cash for themselves. Our members staying in the Philippines would all be quite aware they have to renew or extend their visas when it becomes necessary. As Denis-NFA has already posted; people over 60 aren't allowed out of the house to move about freely and here you are proposing he break lockdown because it will be interesting. to hear about. Seriously?? The quoted post puts me in mind of gossipy nosey wannabe copper!!

There is also the done for you service. The guy picks your passport and goes and does the extension for you, I think he has passes and permits to pass through those checkpoints, it's all on you tube if you want to have a look into it, they say it's a good service.

While they keep over 60's locked down I am not expecting to do anything about extending my visa until at least September and my ACR-I Card, foreigner ID Card, is current until October.
Plus the town of Argao is small enough that local government officials know who I am anyway.
What does concern me, and worrying into the future, is that my Australian passport expires early next year.

But, if you are not overseas then in the current world situation you cannot travel overseas. It must be a bloody crock for you but as they say "them's the breaks". In Argao it used to cost pre Covid about 800 pesos, AUD$25, to get an agent to renew my visa paperwork.

Good to hear bearLOL, if I ever get back to Australia I'll have to ask for DSP. Hearing's far worse but. Left eye is now blurry as and I'm thinking of wearing an eye patch as I have it shut most of the time. What's that saying about "can't see out of one eye and can't see out of the other". But I recently researched some COPD medication that I can buy local that doesn't need a doctors scrip and has helped me a lot. Bloody old Uncles and Aunts are slowly drifting passed their use by date but that's life. All the best Denis

Cheers Denis No one will have to pay a fine if they renew their visa within 30 days of the lockdown being lifted. Just keep watching the local immigration page on Facebook.
