Today is a red letter day, literally, as my local barangay is color coded red and locked down residents, under 21 and over 60, are allowed out to celebrate the 232nd Argao Town Fiesta!
To do that they have closed the town to outside visitors and will have street parades, music and sundry visiting dignitaries.
The only place I want to go is to the beach and look at the sea, look across the straight at the island of Bohol and look back to the 'mountain' range. It's a great vista and sure beats the flat plains where I grew up.
Recently, the internet provider I use, Globe Telecom, upgraded their local infrastructure so I have now gone from about 2.9 Mbits/sec to around 15 Mbits/sec. All unlimited data but at the higher speed, and it tries to get up to 20 Mbits/sec, the bloody equipment drops connections at a frustrating rate. Cost has gone from about AUD$34 to AUD$50 per month
I have also got onto the concept of the AnyCast technology which is a 'dongle' you plug into the HDMI connection of your TV and will then pick up a signal from your cell phone or your internet wireless router. I'm waiting on delivery of the M100 model after trialing the M9 model. Cost about AUD$20.00
Lazada.com.ph has turned out to be a great facility though delivery got a bit patchy for a while with the Covid restrictions but leveled out now.
Banjo, I found a decent/good coffee bean supplier up on Luzon. I am nearly finished the bag of 'Robusta' that I bought as a test early last month and have 500gm each of 'Arabica' and 'Barako' for delivery in the next day or 2. BC Batangas Coffee.
lol.. I made that pack of beans you sent last about 12 months.. used only for special occasions for myself.. but now.. woo hoo.
One of the frustrations I have always had with the Philippines was never knowing where to get stuff that's not stocked locally in the provinces.
Now I get my monthly deliveries of drugs, coffee and ryo tobacco, plus nifty little gadgets.
I bought a new 24" tv/monitor the other week for the other computer. It is a no name but the computer identifies it as a Toshiba and very crisp picture. impressive.
lol.. the other thing I found on lazada is what's called an 'old man keyboard'. my eyesight is deteriorating to the extent that when i type i am mostly wrong. but an old man keyboard is black on yellow keys.. looks good
other than that
all good in these covid days
