Found this info. Seems the officials are determined to link proof of vaccine to our personal passports. Read the whole article. Global airline lobby IATA is working on a mobile app that will help travelers demonstrate their coronavirus-free status, joining a push to introduce so-called Covid passports to speed up the revival of international travel. The Travel Pass will display test results together with proof of inoculation, as well as listing national entry rules and details on the nearest labs, according to the International Air Transport Association. The app will also link to an electronic copy of the holder’s passport to prove their identity. A test program will begin with British Airways parent IAG SA this year before arriving on Apple Inc. devices in the first quarter of 2021 and Android from April, IATA said. Travelers will be able to share their status with border authorities or present a QR code for scanning. At this point in time I've only scanned the full article briefly ann. I will get back to it later today. When I saw Joyce was involved I gave up reading it; especially after the rubbish about electronic passport copies. I've read and even posted they will likely become a reality sometime, but as it currently stands we don't have them, and as far as I know, neither does the rest of the world. It looks as though IATA are just trying to remain relevant before the whole industry implodes, which may be a real possibility going on reports of business travel never recovering and the possibility of full international travel now being pushed out to A 3-4 2021, or even further. DFAT, the MOF (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) here in Thailand, and their global counterparts will be setting whatever agenda is put in place IMHO, even though bits and pieces may very well come from international bodies. I'll look forward to reading the whole thing later. It's a great find and totally relevant, thanks for finding it. Cheers bear

Update: I think I'll stand on my original assessment. Other than having their ideas considered by the relevant Government agencies, because of the disparate entities involved with their own agendas separate from IATA, I'll be patient and wait and see what the global outcome maybe. "The Travel Pass will display test results together with proof of inoculation, as well as listing national entry rules and details on the nearest labs, according to the International Air Transport Association." The above paragraph seems to assume much....if test results will be required, why are we having vaccinations, and the second tranche of ideas seems superfluous.....surely travellers will be conversant with entry requirements before obtaining visas; and as for having details of the nearest labs, for what? I wonder how many travellers will be jumping onto the merry go round if there's a possibility they'll require a lab on arrival. Sure, as things stand with quarantines around the world, tests are being required, before you go, when you arrive and a couple to see you through quarantine. I'm not sure what the point of the article is, other than a chance for a bunch of corporates to try and get on an as yet undecided gravy train; though it seems to be suggesting that ongoing procedures could be required, in order to fill their coffers going forward, thereby normalizing Covid procedures into the future. Yeah nah, not in this lifetime thanks....... Anyhow, these are my thoughts on it as it stands, and if whatever verified vaccination documents alone are not going to be sufficient to travel in a free manner; so be it. Cheers bear

They seem to be assuming there will be a vaccine. Not seen one yet and the ones that are almost there are only 90% effective as yet. may never be one. The U.S. today along with Iran & Russia had new record daily cases. hundreds dead in Germany yesterday. This ain't over by a long way at best. May not be back to 2019 travel norms until 2025 some are saying.
