Am I reading this correctly? Thailand and the Philippines are both safer countries to live in than Australia and NZ?

Am I reading this correctly? Thailand and the Philippines are both safer countries to live in than Australia and NZ? Depends on how much you have had to drink!

Am I reading this correctly? Thailand and the Philippines are both safer countries to live in than Australia and NZ? Not only safety, but property price to income ratio as well. Yet strangely with the cost of living index, purchasing power index and quality of life index Australia beats both ASEAN countries hands down!! Lies, damn lies and statistics...... cheers bear

You may be reading some of the figures the wrong way around bear... Purchasing power in Thailand is 28.7 and Aus, right down the bottom, is 91.7. Click the heading to get the score in every category. It's like golf, lower scores are better for purchasing, but high is best in safety... I think

Questionable to say the least, I think they put a bunch of numbers into various bowls threw them up in the air, and see where they landed... Thanks bear of course I have, I cracked it many years ago Cheers Itsa

I'm not sure I'm understanding how they're rationalising the data. Though if my vehicles vacuum gauge and fuel ratio metre was in this range the entire time; I'd be absolutely stoked......

Safer here by far. I never lock my door when I go out or chain up my bike like I would in Oz. and cost of living here for an OZ pensioner is a joke. I got 2 fresh chicken fillets today for less than A$2.00. It still amazes me how cheap it is. OK, wine not as they tax it beyond belief so local beer it is only. But I save money all the time. Try that on nothing other than DSP or OAP in OZ. And I pay rent. Every person who relies on pension only would be here in a flash if they knew how safe and cheap it is.

We found the same when we came for our extended holiday pre covid. While we had pre paid accommodation, we did a supermarket shop and filled a trolley for about the same as we would usually get 1-2 bags for.
Only a couple of items were more expensive - things that were imported which is more than reasonable.
