i was just looking at the tax rates and it seems to me that if you bring a foregn fiance in to aus that she will be a foregner antill you get married so she will have to pay 39c in the $ tax,am i reading that right does any one no ,thanks.even when we marry its about 2 years before she can become a resedent so will have to pay high tax all that time.

Can she make a claim for the extra tax back at the end of the year? I wasn't aware of the system but wondered if it was to make sure "foreigners" didn't do a runner owing the tax department a few cents. Give the tax office a ring and find out, if the phones are as bad as Centrelink make sure you have a cut lunch handy.

yes thaks banjo good idea,it just seems there are a lot of brick wall out there,just wanting to bring your partner to aus is very hard,o well who said life was'nt ment to be easy.
