Notified c/l of my intended travels o/s and on the standed letter I was given on payments, it says,,, ''my payments will continue to be paid into my Australian bank account every FOUR weeks. '' Is this a new regulation, law, or a mistake. Makes thing awkward if you have a $500 withdraw limit on your card, and if one was to withdraw 4 weeks OAP payments in one day it makes you a good robbery target.

They did this to me in 2002 when I was granted unlimited portability. Check your PM

Strange that for the last 6 months o/s it continued on every fortnight, EXCEPT EXCEPT when I notified them I was leaving 7 months ago they gave me a printout of the OAP payments and the day it was to be lodged in my account, but even before I had got off the plane my OAP was reduced by $100 plus . My THREE e/mails to International went unanswered and the next fortnight payment reduced down to half again. To this day still no letter why. Welfare Rights got involved and got an instant result and was back paid.. THANK_YOU Welfare Rights Org. for your good work. My second problem was the week I returned, I found my OAP had been suspended. Letters in my mail box say its because I have not given c/l a tax return for my business Which was closed in 2003 and wound up in 2005 Wtf. I got that sorted out after a lot of hassles. I wont go into the next problem, I just sent it all to Welfare Rights... I'm out of here, had a guts full, I just feel sorry for others that are claiming Newstart, DSP etc

You Must Not Quit When things go wrong as they sometimes will When the road your trudging seems uphill When funds are low and debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh When care is pressing you down a bit Rest, if you must but never quit Life is queer with its twists and turns As everyone of us sometimes learns And many a failure turns about When he might have won if he’d stuck it out Stick to your task, though the pace seems slow You may succeed with one more blow
Success is failure turned inside out The silver tint of a cloud in doubt And you never can tell how close you are It may be near, it may be far So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit It’s when things seem worst That you must not quit

When things go wrong and will not come right, Though you do the best you can, When life looks black as the hour of night - A pint of plain is your only man.
When money's tight and hard to get And your horse has also ran, When all you have is a heap of debt - A pint of plain is your only man.
When health is bad and your heart feels strange, And your face is pale and wan, When doctors say you need a change, A pint of plain is your only man.
When food is scarce and your larder bare And no rashers grease your pan, When hunger grows as your meals are rare - A pint of plain is your only man.
In time of trouble and lousey strife, You have still got a darlint plan You still can turn to a brighter life - A pint of plain is your only man.

I've applied and been refused, been waiting 4 months for a review of the decision. A friend of a board member has been successful as well as cheetal.
My take is it's there if you play their silly game, they want to tick off points on a clipboard at the assessment... make sure you have plenty.

Totally agree and if you want it you do make sure you have all the points that they can tick off. And it takes some time to make sure you have all the points in place.

Your totally right once again Banj; but the only problem is the idiot doing the box-ticking? It seems it's up to the C/L individual to characterise us as they see fit, as I said in my last long-winded post! My main psychological disorder of 52yrs which got me onto the pension in the 1st place because of aggressive work attitudes, didn't even rate mention or be counted in the summary for the JCA? They made out I was a full blown alcoholic who had accquired brain injuries from an auto accident; never stating, that these had aggravated or been anecdotal towards my life-long mental problems! So a lowly civil servant, has power of life and death decisions over us, and totally disregarding all Professional affadavits submitted; be careful! So be very prepared people, but dont let the bastards bully you, and keep on trying. Dont you just love to dance with C/L, and maybe you can even take Banj in with you, he's good at it! I like tripping the buggers up, myself... Be Safe... Cheetal:))
