Hey....I'm a resident Australian....officially...with C/L anyway. Because when I came back from my holiday overseas I had to live in a backpacker doss house for 3 weeks and then could only obtain a room at a boarding house for 3 months so C/L classed me as homeless But I had to wait to pay off my last C/L advance, that I got overseas at the end of April, so that I could borrow the necessary 6 weeks rent (4 to bond and 2 in advance) to get into this bedsit. So now I am not homeless..... I have a bed, a ferkin bar fridge, separate shower and toilet and a 2 metre long teevee cabinet thingy that is not much taller (20") than my tower computer sitting alongside...my screen, keyboard, mouse, webcam and printer ($10) sit on that and I sit on the side of the bed. But this morning I had delivered a second hand refrigerator, you bute all singing frost free ferking refrigerator.....and I got a receipt....so now I own white goods ;D But I still worry that they might change the rules but I think I am a resident. And I have contributed to the Australian economy....I have had Qld government and Australian government people run around to get me into this place and give me the money to buy the refrigerator..... How good is that I ask you.... all I need now is the right sort of drugs and i will be FREE at last....

3 weeks in a back packers I spent time back packing when I was 35 and a few things stood out in the backpackers , 1 backpackers will shag in the room regardless of how many are sleeping in it 2. the very loud noise a body makes when it roles off the top bunk to the floor. NFD good to see your set up where is it? be careful of that webcam, c/l technology can enable it remotely..

You have a bar fridge and it's got so much beer in it they give you money to buy a refrigerator to put your food in. That's one step up from being a refugee.

zorro1.... I'm in Cairns FNQ mate....City amenities with a country flavour. The only thing that gets me about it is that a weeks rent here is a month in the phils. And C/L enabling my webcam....I wish mate...they don't want to interact with us by computer because it can be recorded! But....and because of 1 of my disabilities, hearing loss, I rely on internet communication I was recently advised of an Australian Government Service called the National Relay Service. www.relayservice.com.au/You can make a free call anywhere in Australia, only from within Australia, and you can save the conversation....hah! I urge everyone to check it out for yourself.

Thats perfect! what is it an ex hotel room? I stayed at the nana hotel in BKK for 2 months once and i could write a book on that alone. Lot of old guys live there and here is the deal, once you move in full time your rate never changes. Some of the guys been there 15 years and pay very little

It was left go to rack & ruin then a Thai Chinese bought it and is slowly doing the place up. It also has 2 very large swimming pools, under cover parking and plenty more. Its about 80% empty no one around.

Bundy mate,
I'll make you cry a tad more....$6/kg mate for a 6kg lump of rump steak.....its cryovaced and you have to cut it up yourself....and that's from the local IGA....
After the first time I bought some beef whilst on holiday in the phils...they don't sell steak...i thought this has got to be dead asian tractors....
and Bundy....pm me if you wish but i would appreciate knowing where the beach is....and i'm not a surfer either...
all the best

The type of beef cattle in tropical countries doesn't seem to make for world class steaks, it braises well though and makes a great curry. A friend of mine only buys the fillets/backstraps, which sell for the same price as the "cheaper" cuts and they're quite good if you don't overcook them. I like my steak still quivering so I don't have a problem with that.

Best steak and corned beef plus vegemite can be purchased from a butcher shop in Olongapo, Subic area.
