I've started a new board to discuss private portability issues off the main forum. It's password protected and anyone interested in it as an applicant or future applicant put your name here and I'll PM you the password. The unlimited portability is the only subject allowed, any attempt to raise any other issues will be deleted with out discussion.

well Centrelink just phoned me in Thailand and have confirmed I will have my money this week and then every 4 weeks after that so looks like it is all go now, the relief is just so good you beauty, money is in the bank including the backpay, what a relief. Transfered from my aussie bank to my thai bank in one day too which blew me away. Just hope those of you chasing this still end up with the same result, in the end centrelink actually came good when they spoke to me over the phone, go figure after all the crap they did to stop it.

Just spoke with Centrelink international and have been informed that at the moment there is a ninety day turnaround for applications for IP so I should hear from them in a month or so hope this is helpful to people in a similar position to me good luck to all

Yes, the over 60s enjoy the same privileges, or lack there of, as the younger generation even though their chances of obtaining work would would probably half with every year they are over 50. I applied for UP around my 64th birthday, missed out and the ARO upheld the decision 6 months later. Go figure.
