Yes mate, that is a surprise. I used them for over 5 years and never had a problem. They are the central depot for most of the other travel agents in the area. If he is in Sihanoukville he can get it done at the local Supermarket "Samadera" In all my years in Asia going to a super market to get a visa was a new experience for me. They just send your Documents up to " Lucky Lucky" any way and stick on an extra $20. By documents I mean passport, pictures and the money you don't need to fill in any paper work at all. You can get a one year visa for about $275.00, that could have changed in the past year with inflation etc.

For the extra $5, IMO it is worth getting the Biz visa it gives you a lot more room to move. Those prices apply if arriving by plane at PP Airport, if you are crossing at a land border like Hat Lek The Khmer Immigration thieves will demand about 1,600Bhart, some have tried to just pay the $25. and been left in no mans land for the night. I am not sure about Poi Pet crossing as i haven't crossed there for many years but they were also a pack of rogues. The only visa you can get from a Khmer consulate is the Tourist visa same with the on line visa.

The name lucky is all over Cambodia... I'm told all related in some way. Perhaps they were lucky to escape the K.R. I have never heard it related to Lucky strike before.

a mate of mine used to just put $50 in the back of his passport and ask for 'balakbayan" at immigration counter in cebu airport. it works for sure depending on who you get. I (alledgedly) tried it in manilla but it diidnt work. Normally you have to be travelling with your pinay wife to get balakbayan.
I did hear year long balakbayan visa stamps can be done for 10k ($250) through dodgy immigration officers.
problem is with the 6week rule thats too darned dear. at least with 6 weeks you will only have the one update.
either way doing dodgy things through immigration can be expensive or get you in hot water... sounds good about the extensions at the airport though. ill try that...

There was a major hue and cry in Thailand about 10-12 years ago when the dodgy visa guys came unravelled involving quite a few farang getting the boot after a few free nights accommodation.
Get yourselves a proper visa through legitimate means, it's just not worth the trouble.

I believe the 1yr visa for Cambodia is now $293 Banker. It's definitely something I'm thinking of as dealing with Indonesian agents is getting more and more expensive.

The visa I do for Thailand is about $225 and if left to my own devices by Centrelink I can stretch it to 15 months. The only condition is that you have to leave the country... just a visa run really, every 13 weeks. If I'm in the north i just go to Burma for the day.
I spent a lot of time in the Lao PDR and that was only a 30 day tourist visa on arrival with no renewal or extension in country. I think it's about $30 now.
China and Vietnam you have to have the visa on arrival. a bit of a nuisance for casual travellers.

I think Ill go for the cambodia business visa, I heard if you extend for 6 - 12 months you get multiple entry so then I can go back and forth from here plus it takes less pages in the passport and works out cheaper in the long run.

Speaking of visas anyone know if its possible to get 60 day visa on arrival in PP Cambodia? I know you get 30 days on arrival but you have to pay more for the extension later.. business visa, take 2 passport photos with you and cash usd, can apply on arrival etc get 6 months with extentions
