Went to the SSAT, was just 1 lady in that hearing, she backed centrelink, continued the appeal process past that to the one after that, sorry forgot the name of that one, AAT? The next appeal process was basically a phone call between me, a centrelink staff member and a 3rd lady that was trying to see if we can resolve the matter. She recommended my appeal go to court. She booked a court date for me for 6 weeks later. About 2 weeks before the court date, thats when centrelink rang saying that he had been ordered to give me the DSP (by who idk) as long as i was willing to drop the court proceedings.

OK, that's interesting, you must have been border line by their assessment and they decided not to proceed to the AAT. Or did you go to the AAT? If so I've heard of an OAP residency issue getting dropped by Centrelink before the Federal court.
If Centrelink were reluctant to to give you the DSP I'd say that the Unlimited Portability would be an up hill battle for you.

Yeah, a big uphill battle. Well i presume it was the AAT that i saw, it was just held by phone due to distance (I live in a rural area). The next step was going to be held at Toowoomba court house before a judge.

Yes seem's it will be hard for u to get unlimited portability unless of course you get worser? but of course you will have to spend more time at Doctors etc.

This annoys me, Centrelink... not you, because you seem to be poorly informed about the procedure you have been made to follow. Did you have any representation or advice or even know you were entitled to it? It really pisses me off to see this sort of thing done on the phone as well, Centrelink should have a responsibility to arrange for people to personally appear before their tribunals.

Indeed, the "homeless man wins pension back" case discussed at length here involved a Sydney lawyer who does a lot of work for WR.
I wonder if Centrelink had to cop for his costs.... ?
When I discussed my UP case with WR and possibility of a SSAT appeal they said in their opinion I had little chance of success but were still more than happy to assist me and attend the tribunal with me.
