l read an article about new impairment tables bought in in 2011 and it said 30%-40% of people currently on the pension would lose it if they are reviewed under these new tables. If somone who got the pension before 2006 gets reviewed do they get reviewed under the old tables and people after 2006 get reviewed under the new 2011 tables? So just say someone who got the pension in 2009 gets called up for a JCA or review and even if their medical condition has not gotten any better or even worse they can still lose their pension becasue they are accessed under new tables? it seems unfair to me.

My take is that there will be no compulsory reviews regardless of when you went on the DSP, I have a letter from Minister Kate Ellis that I put on the board confirming this.
If you apply for the unlimited portability you have to have an assessment under the new impairment tables, that may be also used to reassess your eligibility for the DSP.

Hi Everyone Just have a question will be applying for unlimited portability (brain trauma same doctor for 40 years so should be ok been on DSP since 2002 << and have never heard from CL since)
The thing is even though i handel things ok here with out a carer ........... i am not sure if they would want me to go overseas by myself.Anyone who talks to me knows something is wrong with me. What would happen if i got a carer to take me over seas Would that carer get the cares pension overseas as i would proablly need one.
With Thanks Dinky

Dinky: I'm not sure they really want any of us going overseas by ourselves, and they expect us to ask mummy/CL if we can! I doubt that will be on their list of impediments to stop you travelling, because it becomes a discrimination factor straight up. Good luck with it all Dinky:) Cheetal..

Thanks cheetal
I am going to apply this week All I have to go in there with is a GP who has been my doctor for 40 years to fill the forms out he said I will get no better as I get older just get worst as time goes on so no specialist ?.
CL made there informed decision to give me DSP in 2002 based on the imformation before them at the time.
What do I do from here just ring them and ask for forms for U Limited be posted out ?
And when I go to the interview is that held at the local CL office where I went for DSP in 2002 << since then I have never heard from CL.
My mate who is a Justice Of The Peace should I get him to help me fill in the form I will have to fill in U Limited.
with thanks Dinky

Hi dinky
I'm a carer and the very same rules apply for me as for the DSP, meaning 6 weeks. So you can take a carer with you, (if you find one...) Which country do you want to go to? As for UP, just be aware that you can lose your DSP over the new application. If you're sure that your condition will allow you to keep the DSP, just call CL, they'll send you the form. Good luck, & keep us informed

Hi Roxane
Yes I intend to call them tomorrow and ask for forms to be sent out Does anyone know who to call ? (Tasmania )
It is just that I have had same doctor for 40 years and he is about to retire And has full knowledge of my accident (brain damage ) he has said to me last visit I am not going to get any better And will only get worse as I get older 55 now been on DSP for 12 years.
Am now on oxy contin for my head aches (good luck me trying to find a job when I am zonked out )
Anyway they CL made an informed decision at the time 12 years ago on the evidence presented to them Mainly a face to face interview to grant me DSP.
Doe's anyone know is the U Limited interview conducted at the local CL office ?
with thanks Dinky
