hi, don't know where to post this , but here goes, I am heading OS for 6 months as I have my Unlimited Portability I am heading OS next week, now I have rang CL International twice rang CL twice regarding a letter from them acknowledging that I have informed them both of my trip OS for 6 months, they both promised me I would receive a letter from both there departments acknowledging that I have told them and accepting that I will be out of Australia for that period, as of today I have not received a phone call let alone a letter from CL International, nor CL itself,,,,,, I do not trust these bastards nor any government department for that matter,,, what is to stop them suddenly turning "Snakey" and saying I never informed them and cut my DSP off?, I asked the CL International bloke this and his reply was "oh that will never happen" yeah right mate, he then stated "we have all the records on computer" I asked "what happens if the computer crash's or some hacker or virus gets into the computers and deletes all the files" the bloke replied "that's impossible" ..... "nothing is bloody well impossible mate" was my response to this,,,, so I am a bit concerned about not having solid evidence in my hand before I leave Australia,, any advice appreciated folks.

When you phone them always ask for a receipt number for the call. Keep this number for your proof that you notified them, a better way is ask them for it in writing.

Yes, write a letter of intent to travel and take it in to the nearest office, keep a copy. Personally I'd just go and not worry about it.

Terry Copy of letter RECIEVED last week
May 1, 2013 at 6:16pm Quote Edit Post by fedup on May 1, 2013 at 6:16pm Your plans to travel This letter is about receiving payments and concession card entitlements when you leave Australia. Important information Information provided by Australia’s immigration department may affect your payments. This letter contains important information. Please read this letter carefully and go to our website humanservices.gov.au if you have any further questions. What happens to your payments and concession card entitlements You have advised us that you intend to depart Australia April 10 2013. Your entitlements outside Australia • Your Pension Supplement may be paid outside Australia up to 21May 2013 . After 42 days outside Australia • Your Clean Energy Supplement and Disability Support Pension can no longer be paid. • Your Pensioner Concession Card will be cancelled. While this card cannot be used outside Australia, it still allows normal concessions in Australia until the date the card cancels. How your payments will be made Your payments will continue to be paid into your Australian bank account. While you’re away If your payment remains current it will continue to be affected by any changes that would normally impact on it. For example if your relationship status changes, or your income or assets change such as receiving a new source of income from another country, your rate of payment may be reduced. If you own a home in Australia and you are absent from your home for more than 12 months or leave your home permanently, your home in Australia will be assessed as an asset. If you rent out your home in Australia or buy a home in another country your payment may be affected. If we cannot get in touch with you while you are outside Australia we may need to stop your payment. Please ensure you have provided us with your contact details (address, telephone number, email) while you are outside Australia and let us know if your contact details change. Your payments may be impacted if your return to Australia is delayed due to unexpected events. If your travel plans change or your return is delayed by an emergency, tell us as soon possible

I told my social worker and she said she put the info in the computer, but as I mistrust all and sundry at c/l ,I rang international a couple of days later, and taped the phone call, the next day I received the above letter via online service .

I don't know about illegal, and I don't see any signs up in centrelink offices that say they can video you without permission, and regardless I transcribe any conversations ,I personally don't give a rats razoo ,anyway, and I can't be GOING into there INTERERGATORS offices EVERYTIME I need to contact them, waiting for hours on end and thats just the lineup,if I want specific info ,I want it in writing, simple,in writing verbatim ,what they said, word for word.face to face is no option for me because if you start carrying on with the belittling antics some of them try on ,someone will get knocked out.and LAZY is not in my vocabulary .
