Human Services have a new internet adviser, someone who goes around social websites and advises people on their Centrelink problems.
Everywhere but DSPoverseas for some reason.... Banker's BO or Baranghope's late night rants?
An example of Rahul's wisdom.
Do I need to terminate my C.R.N from Centrelink?
I have acquired a C.R.N from Centrelink 1 month ago and it was for trying to apply for assistance in getting work. I have realized that my mum has received payments through Centrelink's Tax Refund or Education refund when I was in High School and have read online that every child of the family where the parents are claiming benefits have already been allocated a C.R.N. My C.R.N is streamline 1 limited and has been told by a representative form an employment agency to go back to Centrelink and apply for a New Start Allowance???
I have filled out a T.F.N application form and not sure if I'm supposed to hand it to them since I have a C.R.N or directly towards the A.T.O .
I'm very cautious about the Law and have never committed a crime.

Hi Jack, my name is Rahul and I work at the Australian Government Department of Human Services, in a team that responds to enquiries about Centrelink on social media sites like this one.
All Centrelink customers are allocated an individual Customer Reference Number (CRN) that stays the same regardless of how many times a payment is claimed or cancelled. It can be possible for some customers to have multiple CRNs though. But you will be able to confirm your correct CRN when you next contact the department.
A Tax File Number or TFN is separate to your Centrelink CRN and to obtain a TFN you would need to apply directly to the Australian Taxation Office.
When you spoke to the employment agency representative, they may have been advising you to test your eligibility for Newstart Allowance, which provides financial help for jobseekers. There is more information here www.humanservices.gov.au/customer…
It's important that you lodge an intention to claim with us as soon as possible to ensure that you receive assistance from the earliest possible date if you're eligible. You can do this here
www.humanservices.gov.au/customer…
Hope that helps.

I prefer to think that it's because they know that DSPoverseas has the best advice anyway.... LOL
One wonders if the internet advice is being outsourced?
