Heres another case of the disaster in the UK where many mentally ill people along with others kicked off their Incapacity pension. This man was arrested trying to get into Buckingham to protest against losing his Incpacity (disability) pension after being assessed in September. He said he didn't want to hurt anyone just draw attention to what happened to him. His obviously very mentally ill and on medication but he was kicked off his pension along with hundreds of thousands of others in the UK crackdown. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2461431/David-Belmar-Buckingham-Palace-intruder-armed-knife-fixated-Queen.html

It's appalling what they're doing. We can only hope that our own country's efforts to "reduced the growing welfare bill" don't kick a bunch of the people on here who have mental illnesses off DSP, too.
Does anyone really think a dude whose mental health issues lead him to believe you can walk through the front gates of Buckingham Palace to have a nice chat with the Queen about a bad government policy/decision should be getting a job in an office tomorrow? Oh, with a large knife in his pocket. New government policy means they'll get him back to work... this sounds like a fabulous idea, right??
Given the number of people who've died or had major mental health crises after being reassessed as 'fit to work', it makes it very clear that it's not really about getting people who can work back to work; it's about taking money away from sick people so they can keep paying for politicians perks.

Yes did you read about all the Politicans that flew on Gina Reinharts private jet to a lavish wedding in India and rorted a fortune travel expenses, taxpayers money doing so. Of course they got away scot free when they got caught, they are probably the same bastards that want to take away the pittance deserving people on the DSP get.

I hadn't heard about it, @frugle, but it sounds about right.
There's definitely two sets of fraud laws in this country: the ones that send poor people to jail for defrauding CL of $15k of welfare money... and then the laws for the rich. Where politicians who rort their expense accounts terribly, at most just have to pay the money back. Where job network providers who routinely falsify claims don't even have to do that much. Where white collar criminals in the banking sector do all sorts of shady stuff with our super money and mostly never even get arrested. The government is totally serious on "cracking down on welfare fraud" when it's the welfare recipients getting money; not so much when it's Therese Rein's buddies who run the job network and/or the politicians in charge of the whole mess with their hands in the till.

Yes just look at all the millions of dollars in fraud the job networks have committed , creating phontom jobs to claim money, none of them ever get arrested or thrown in jail, they have made owners multi millonaers while doing little or nothing to help the unemployed When a wealty person or poltican is caught stealing the worst thing that happens to them is they have to pay the money back. tHEY always say it was a 'mistake' even though they are guilty as hell and get the benefit of the doubt. If someone on newstart does the wrong thing they go straight to jail.

yes imagine if someone who works at the checkout at a supermarket gets caught stealing $10,000 cash from the till do they just get to say " sorry l will pay it back" and then they leave it all at that and walk off scot free? no way. Theres one law for the wealthy and politicans and one law for the rest of us. l totally agree that people on welfare who deliberately cheat taxpayers money should be punished but why aren't politiicans who rip off taxpayers money also punished and the greedy job network fraudsters
