2-3 days, as opposed to the last unsuccessful attempt where I was assured the transactions took 8-9 days. Now will that be calendar days or working days?

Have been using my Citibank card for many years in Thailand. Used to use the AEON machines in Chiang Mai for free but now, a fee is charged via the AEON ATM.
Citibank have been good to me over the years. Last year I lost my wallet on the motorbike in Chiang Mai and had my card in it. They had a card to me within 48 hours. It was very good service.
Was just granted a Platinum Card today by Citibank. They are hoping I will use it overseas now as they get a nice 3% extra payout, every time a transaction goes through. I do have a Siam Bank account but only use it to store my cash in in after taking the cash our from my Citibank ATM.

Thanks Banjo
Citibank has a very small office here. When I lost my card, another card was just forwarded onto this office an I was able to get my card from here. Citibank has given me good service over the years. Still, I have a fair amount of money tied up with them in Bond offers an they really do want to keep my business as I am very happy to walk out to go elsewhere for a few % points more.. Still, prefer to use money changers if I can so I do keep a bit of spare cash on hand.

The few times now I have been to Dumaguete city on Negros in the Phillipines I have used the BPI bank with my NAB debit card I can get 20000p each time, so hopefully when I go there to stay long term I will only need 2 with dralls each month at about $4 dollar atm and I think $4 bank charge so that is about $16 dollars a month and I think $192 a year.
I think I can live with that.............will post more on living around Dumaguete after being there for a while

I spent most my time in Baguio City but would have easily lived in Dumaguete City. Yes, a lovely spot. I was bringing in most my money via a private money trading firm that gave just about a 3/4 of a peso above market rate of the banks an was above par with the black market money traders. It was a $5 transfer fee to a BPI bank. Anything above 40,000 was a $7 fee. This was about 7 years ago.

www.torfx.com.au/I have started to use these guys now. Took a bit to get set up but I can get money to my Bank Account 3-4 days and a very good rate. Has stopped the 150-180 baht per transaction up to 25,000 Baht from Bangkok Bank and I am getting above Visa rates that my Citibank card gives me. All up I am getting about 800-900 baht a month more in my hands. The service is very good as I can ask them to give me a call when the rate spikes during the month and lock in a trade.

Early payments?
My pension is about 4 days early. Sure it's not Centrelink so maybe the banks expedited it?

Have found a better system now to transfer money to Thailand.
At the Bangkok Bank booths they can do a "MasterCard/Visa Cash Advance. They give you Visa rates of FX and the best part, no 180 Baht ATM fee. Again having a ING Orange Direct Card or a Citibank Card is the way to go to remove the banks fee's back at home. With the dollar diving, I am trying now every way possible to get my transfers at the highest rate with no charges at all. To date, this has been the best way around it all.
So all you need to do is take your card to the Bank, show them your passport as well and they will do the rest. Pretty simple way of saving $7 every time you go to the bank....
