I transfer my DSP payment via Western Union to a local bank - cost $10 for the transfer.
ATM withdrawals cost 5 pesos from a local ATM (not my actual local bank).

There's no such thing as a "good" travel insurance quote Bernie.... People opening an overseas account should know that not all banks have an IBAN, an overseas bank account number. You can google your banks name and iban to check this. I've photocopied every relevant document including both sides of my healthcare card to send in. Edit: In case I need a larger envelope, if I copy and print the address onto the new one will the barcode still work? I notice that nearly three weeks has past and deathly silence still reigns. Wondering if the paperwork had gone astray I went into the online services and attempted to change the bank account there but there appears to be no facility to change to an overseas account.

I received a strange online letter late Friday, I get a small payment this week, then a normal pension 2 weeks after that, leaving me a payment gap of about 8 days. No mention of the account changing and all mention of account names has disappeared from my online profile. I sent off an email enquiring so will wait and see now.

LOL... your next payment will come from the Department of Foreign Affairs... Congratulations you are now an Australian employee. The dates for monthly payments are defined, somewhere, in the OAP stuff. It is every 4 weeks so you get 13 payments per year.

The plot thickens after I rang CI today. My payment was returned because of a wrong bank account number. Now Banjo's incompetence with paperwork is legendary but getting numbers wrong on scanned documents is a first for him.

The plot thickens: part 2. Still no money and my online payment history predicts a "delivery date" for a small (2 days?) payment this week and a 4 week payment shortly after. Does this delivery date mean Centrelink can predict the time the transaction will take to go through? If not will another week needed to be added for this? (More, you have to love a country that shuts down for 4 days for Mother's Day) Will they get the number right this time or will it have to start over once again. Will Banjo, forced to live on a daily $1 a bowl serve of noodle soup, fade away to a shadow of his former physical grandeur? Maybe some good will come of this after all......

Maybe some good will come of this after all...... Better get some before and after photos Banjo... If you don't mind but when was the anniversary of your first 12 months? I'm coming up for 12 months at end of August but I am unsure how soon they will put me on 4 week payments and be facing the same funding gap as you have been going through. Fish and rice might have to be my staple for a while... lol

I have just been checking overseas payments for myself Banjo and I see that the time gap on issuing 4 week payments is less than fortnightly so the 2 days (?) is possibly to compensate you for that reduction ( ). The document I am looking at also says that "Direct Deposit Customers should receive payment by:" and it is 6 days from date of issue.

I have been here in Philippines on oap for 20 months now and still on fortnightly payment. My money goes into an Australian bank.

Strangely enough, the online payments screen shows me getting 2 days payment, then 4 weeks, then 2 weeks later, I go back to 2 weeks. I Remember Banker telling us he had dramas when he changed over. Attachments:

Sure, a year overseas and my bank account is back in the black.
What annoys me is that I'm using up my remaining dollars which I would have liked to keep in reserve in case of an emergency trip back to Australia.
