Recently i inquired about transferring money through western union and the cost was outragious. can't remeber whether it was the ex rate or fees but ended up doing it through com bank which was much better if you have accounts at both ends.

What do you guys think about the Citibank Plus account? Mine has arrived in the mail and ready to be used in Makati when I get there. From what I hear, ATM withdrawals are free from in international Citibank Branch. Correct me if I'm wrong. Too late for me but it seems one of the best ways to go. Enjoy your stay.

.. have found Citibank Plus to be the best option for overseas atm withdraws but do need to remember to select ‘credit’, don’t know why, is just some oddity of Citibank.
Citibank Plus is also a good option for receiving Pounds, Euro, Rupees etc into Australia.
Australian banks suck with fees.

And I'm glad to see someone gaining benefit. I recently changed to 4 weekly payment but the exchange rate is not good enough.

The US Dollar is the benchmark so I will mention that first.
Tues-Weds and Weds-Thursday the overnite rate was 48.30 to the peso. A few guys got on another forum and claimed to have gotten 48.34 on overnite online transfers. Not sure. The money changer rate for cash was 48.16 Weds AM and 48.20 this morning.
The AUD was around 36.9 to 37. The moneychanger rate was 36.40 this morning. I don't have the bank rate.
Investor confidence in the Philippines so we might see favorable rates for a few months on the USD. The AUD is driven by other forces so I would not hold my money long term. Change it now and await further developments.

After all it is mainly Chinese that control the Philippines and he has put it out there what he thinks of the USA.

I have talked to Centrelink.i am eligible on September 29 , for permanent portability. The young man I talked with....said under no circumstances leave on that date, as your pension will be stopped.he advised to wait a few days. Anyway I am going on October 4...my question is. We can get paid in our bank here, or in our bank in country we live, by reserve bank. Now can anyone tell me, does reserve bank rip you off like local bank, or do they give rate of the day.i have a pinoy lady here , give rate of the day, $12 charge . Anyone got any ideas. Be glad to hear
