Dinky your mate is right! they fly the big new 777's and you want to get the upgrade seat they are huge. One word of warning though, scoot stop at Singapore and unlike Malaysia you have to grab your bags and exit customs and then re enter again, unless you get "scoot through" about $20.
Seriously though if you grab a pen paper and write down every single expense including drinks food "extras? blankets, entertainment, more drinks and food at connecting terminals you wouldn't be that far off Thai/phillipine airlines and in fact they are often cheaper!!
Thank god I dont have to go through the travel night mare ever again :-))

Air Asia kick you out of the terminal in Kuala Lumpar as well, the trick is to give yourself plenty of time to check back in.
All those horror stories about Tiger that were on that TV show were the same, people weren't giving themselves enough time between flights. Plus the budget airlines cancel flights at the drop of a hat.
Had 4 domestic/Thailand Air Asia flights last week, 2 were delayed by several hours but I gave myself plenty of time so no problem.
