I know this forum primarily deals with DSP and Age Pension issues, but has anyone here dealt with this mob when they have been on Nostart? As I experienced today they breach you first and ask questions later. They call you a liar and then you have to demand their decision be reviewed and complain to the local Federal MP's office to get any justice. As I said to the arrogant woman on the phone this morning even a bank robber is innocent until proven guilty and receives a fair trial. Centrelink recipients on the other hand are guilty until proven innocent. The woman said don't make it personal, well her colleague last week calling me a liar made it very personal.

You should make a complaint, they have no right to talk to you like that. I'd advise doing it in writing. Any phone dealings you have with them, ask for a receipt number for the call. it identifies who you spoke to.
NewStart is a can of worms for us, most of us are closer to Age pension status. However if they ever start to Reassess ALL DSP recipients then we might have to face up to it.

I complained to the local MP's office and magically the "breach" was reversed! They do have a customer relations unit 1800 number apparently (Centrelink). Joining the military is looking better and better by the day, I have the YOU session in three weeks but it could take up to two years to get in so I need to go on Austudy in the interim. I would not wish Newstart on anyone. Centrelink know you can't afford to comply ($160 a week less than the pension) and they know there are few if any unskilled jobs yet they still expect you to partake in "voluntary work".
