Went in today and picked up the forms for UP. Also asked about my trip being booked before may but they had no idea what I was talking about, there was no mention of it on their system but a google search showed up the part about trips booked before the may budget being under the old 6 week rule next year.. So she scanned my flight details and receipt in so I can prove it later if need be.

Good on you viper for applying for u/p i think you should download a copy of the impairment tables and make a appointment to see you doctors as soon as possible because now it can take months for centerlink to make a decision on your application for u/p as i think there is a real backlog of applications anyway goodluck on your u/p application

You "went in and picked up the forms?"
That's strange, procedure up to recent times was to ring up Centrelink International to send them out, they appeared to printed off especially for each applicant.
Did the forms they gave you already have your details on them?

Nope no details on them, the girl simply looked the forms up on her computer and printed them out.

Interesting.
I don't suppose you could scan them and email them to me before you fill them in?

... and I assume that DSPrs can leave anytime during the year for up to 13 weeks without payment , but that will be my next question for them Cool, that is something i'm wondering about too. Does anyone know for sure ? if DSP'rs leave Aus for longer than 28 days after 1st January 2015 will their pension be suspended ( seems to be ) or cancelled ?

I called clink international today regarding my trip abroad. I was tlod if I was to leave on the 30th dec and return on feb 7th it will be ok, (actually he said no later than the 10th, but my ticket is fore the 7th). he said that I will be paid for the 6 week durtion.
I was concerned about staying over the 6 weeks as I will be with my elderly mum abroad and if anything came up how long could I extend without being totally cut off. I was told I could spend the 6 weeks with pay, then no more than an additional 13 weeks without pay. this is good news as I hope to spend some extra time with my wife and kids and work out our future.
he said that I wuold be SUSPENDED after the 6wweks only, not cancelled all together. this was good news. I made sure to get a reciept number.
has anyone else had the same (or different) advice from centrelink international?
