Hi NFA yes I am aware it is far from settled, I doubt that I have ever seen a stronger negative reaction to a Federal budget, it is overwhelming the condemnation it is receiving here in Oz. PUP, Labor an Greenies are saying no way!!! There will be no double dissolution as LNP would get flogged after this budget, so interesting few weeks ahead or at least until July when PUP get balance of power!

But all I focus on is what happens for DSP folk and to me if "they", and I mean any government, can limit us to only being "allowed" to leave Australia for 4 weeks out of 52 then what will stop "them" in the future from limiting anyone, whether worker or OAP let alone DSP, to 4 weeks maximum overseas in 52?

I see where you are going and I suppose that is a possibility but would hope we still live in a democracy and the voters would throw out any Government that went up that road. I do not think there will be any pollies however that will stick up for us dspers over this rubbish the Libs have just served up. I say that due to the nonsense that is rammed down the throat of the public and unfortunately swallowe.

Yes Fedup, these are options available should that ever happen, but I really doubt it. Even in the other forums I sometimes go to, there is strong support especially for OAP people that they can live where they like. Politicians are not that stupid (I thinkO. All of this I believe stresses the need for Political change in this Country has never been more evident than what has occurred in this budget - and I dont mean going back to Labor, as they have been just as bad. I am talking about a total emergence of another party with different ideas and attitudes, not only to pensioners but the management and direction of the country generally.
