After Banjo alerted us to the SSAT closure/shut down I made my own inquiry and was told It's A Brave New World!

I was told it would involve job cuts. I read somewhere that in the UK they are planning on charging people money to appeal because there was too many people appealing and it was costing the govt too much money.

I was told it would involve job cuts. It would have to! Presumably the point of the exercise. But as @frugle points out, it will mean a loss of avenues to correct mistakes by C/L.

Hi all, Well as many know I am in the AAT appeal system at the moment and find the biggest problem not surprisingly is CL and their inefficiencies. I wished to submit new medical evidence on my appeal and for some reason, CL has insisted that I go through the entire process of submission again, but jumping back to the AAT. Despite an extensive and conclusive report on my medical condition, including no work ability, severe impairment across the spectrum as far as he is concerned, possibility of paralysis or wheelchair confinement in the future - I have to submit another Medical Report form = this is bureacracy at its worst. Along the way I appealed to SSAT as is the process, found them a toothless tiger and rubber stamper, although they did give a decision that I was unfit for work for 2 year (when I will be 65) so I suppose that is some consolation. There is no doubt that the current Government are trying to streamline the system and Banjo is right, it will totally clog up the system, I have been at AAT level now for more than 7 or 8 months.
