I was hauled in today for an interview. Well it was 3 questions: Have I been attending the programme of support I’m linked with? What type of work am I looking for? And do I have any questions? This taken less than a minute, then I was free to go. I understand this is probably something to do about participation requirements. Not sure what the purpose of this is when they already have my information on their computer, that I’m voluntarily seeking some work that I can do.

Pactrpo, when they called me for the interview it scared me, even when I get mail from them it scares me. I tend to stress over little things like that lol. I’m always honest with them about everything. I think your right Banjo they were probably going over my file for any changes.

But was sent a letter telling me I have to report my income (!?) prior to being paid for the next 6 fortnights. They terrify me.

When I was residing overseas Centrelink conducted 3 investigations to determine whether I was earning an income. It was all in my file that I got with a FOI application.
They sent an Australian legal firm to spy on me. They accessed my PayPal account. They called me up pretending to be the embassy doing a survey on expats in employment.
Fortunately they could see the difference between volunteering and paid work.

It drives them nuts not being able to spy on us when we're out of the country. This explains a lot of the totally unreasonable rules they have made up, pure and simple spitefulness.
