www.optiontown.com/.. is a new product, seems too good .. , so what’s the catch etc. I took a leap and got a Flight Pass .. 6 AAX flights, for 2 users, valid for 1 year, advance booking 90 days, same day flexibility for all flights between my Australian city and Kuala Lumpur at $189 per flight .. that’s 52% off the historical average price of $379 .. and the Pass can be used to book flights during the higher priced holiday periods. In the past I’ve got AAX flights for less ($169 outbound or $129 inbound) by booking a year in advance and getting up at 3 am for the sales .. but such low prices are not available for holiday peak times. Booking a flight at Optiontown was straightforward and my ticket from Air Asia arrived in a few minutes .. as my Optiontown email and Air Asia account email are the same it was easy to link my Optiontown booking to my Air Asia account for Add-ons and Manager Booking etc. My ticket invoice shows the ticket cost to be $181 and $8 was the Optiontown fee. btw - a 1 year pass with advance booking of 180 days is actually valid for 1 year and 180 days (or 180 days and then 1 year). Flight Pass (FPo) is worth considering, particularly if needing to travel at peak times .. Pass parameters can be customized to suit. The catch .. Air Asia will then charge you stupid for baggage ($39!) and seat pick .. don’t book a return ticket in AU$ because prices are lower when in MYR .. and use a bank card (like Citibank Plus) that does not charge a currency conversion fee and have a PayPal account for AU$.

Did you try for the upgrade?
Not interested in Upgrade .. have in the past used Empty Seat .. but now, after many AAX flights, have revised my seat strategy (not for open forum) and depends on the load factor and some luck.
