As usual a pension increase is due on 20th of March.
Usually by now the information has been released but this time I can't seem to find anything.
Anybody seen any news?
Anybody as curious as I am about why we haven't heard anything?
Surely this would be a case of "good news" the gumbiment would want released.

It is supposed to go up this Friday according to Scott Morrison. My next pay has gone to $801.24 But that straddles the increase period. I will know the full amount in April.

Thats an increase of only $5.90 which would make it the lowest increase in several years.

Rent assistance has also been lowered so makes the rise even less.

It's only half the September rise last year ($11.50 then, $5.90 now), which explains why the Government isn't singing about it going up like they did then. The current pension indexing system is not sending the Government broke after all.

well as the aussie dollar is now under 25 baht on the exchange it wont add much here either, the drop in the dollar has tightened it a lot for me

Rent assistance is a hard one to tell. Max rate is going up slightly but if your not paying max rent presently then you actually get a reduction. I can't tell exactly how much but mine for about 5 days into the new period is reduced by about 26 cents.
