Centrelink blames complex policy for waitsThe head of Centrelink has asked parliament to stop coming up with ever-more complex policy changes. Every change demanded system updates that didn't always have time to get tested, which meant things didn't work as well as they could for the public, Department of Human Services deputy secretary Grant Tidswell told a parliamentary committee looking at Centrelink wait times. "Our policy settings are very complex - there's a plea there to the parliament," he said on Thursday. The government has been doing this same kind of thing for donkeys' years.
My father (dead 22 years now) was a pharmacist and complained to me on a few occasions that policy changes were often rarely explained, so that at one stage he was not sure what the rules were regarding dispensing certain medicine.
It drove him a bit nuts for a while and the stress of it all drove him to smoke tobacco more, finally killing him 6 months after he retired at 62.

Obviously a man of principal.
When I cleaned out my late fathers "medicine cabinet", a cupboard under the sink, a few years back I took two full shopping bags of prescription drugs, most in unopened boxes, down to the local hospital disposal service.
