You can only read so many comments, before an overwhelming urge to jump through the screen and send some of those indulging in stupid on the today show site, to their makers..... Are you guys aware, that there are in fact paid shills out there, posting on various forums etc. in order to sway public opinion & to try to shape the masses/sheeple ? Of course there are uninformed, judgmental & ignorant people out there, but there are also likely paid shills active. Indeed there are, plz be aware on this, just incase! I'm sure, that they are doing all they can, in order to push this onto the people, for more control etc. They can also set up the public in such a way, so that many will demand that a cashless welfare card be imposed etc. Guess who owns & controls the mass media, it's the wealthy at the top, who consider themselves above the law! They can use 'controlled opposition' too, they can hire infiltrators... This is how they work! For example: How Covert Agents Infiltrate the Internet to Manipulate, Deceive... --> theintercept.com/2014/02/24/jtrig-manipulation/

If no one was taking any notice would these people be doing it? Social media is an important tool these days.

Came across this blog post today. No party in Ceduna On 19 August 2015, the LNP government introduced the Social Security Legislation Amendment (Debit Card Trial) Bill 2015. In the House of Representatives between 19 August and 15 September 2015 this was read 3 times and subsequently passed onto the Senate. It was read there on 16 September, 13 and 14 October 2015, and assented 12 November 2015. The Department of Social Services (DSS) said “The Australian Government is looking at the best ways to support communities where a lot of people are on welfare, and alcohol, gambling and drug use are causing harm.” DSS also said that “people who receive payments from Centrelink like Newstart, Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment and Carers Payment” would be involved. In January this year The Australian reported that this new system was proposed by mining magnate Andrew Forrest in 2014 in his review of the welfare system. It seems that “80 per cent of a person’s government payment would be quarantined to a bank card that could not be used to buy alcohol and gambling products, nor converted to cash”. Assistant Minister for Social Services Alan Tudge, who was overseeing this trial, thought that the card would “prove the measure can be the ‘solution’ to alcohol-induced social harm”. This week saw Ceduna in South Australia put on a Cashless Debit Card trial without any agreement or support from beneficiaries in this area. It'll get worse. "They" (international people who order Australia around) want to bring in total control. Soon you'll have to have an inoculation before joining the bread line.

I spoke to the lady at DHS who specializes in the welfare card cos i was concerned about paying my personal loan and she said you can still set up direct debit for that etc so thats good news......I asked about dsp and travellng and she said at the moment you will be able to use the card overseas like a normal debit card but you cant withdrawl cash... that does not help in south east asia where its pretty much a cash society...she said that could change but they have to wait first for the trial to finish Here is a number and email if anyone is interested debitcardtrial@dss.gov.au (link sends e-mail) 1800 252 604.

If you're talking about the cashless welfare card it's not going to be an issue with people on the DSP with unlimited portability. I don't know why the woman you spoke to didn't tell you that.

I guess if this were the case then everyone on UP will no longer be on UP and including those whose who are allowed the minimum portability of 28 days per year will all be under house arrest
