Welcome to the forum abouttime.
I have heard nothing about any future portability period changes and seriously doubt either major party have them in the pipeline. At the moment your only real alternative is to apply for Unlimited Portability.
Several members concerned with unfair DSP rules are in contact with their local branch of the Greens who seem to be taking a genuine interest.

agree Banjo. I will say to those new and older, contact you local Green member party OR me if you wish to know why. Its really simple, as we are into an election, and YOU will have to decide. If you vote ALP or LNP, you will be saying to those pigheaded goons, that you support fools who wish to diminish your ability to be a person. If you vote LNP or ALP in this election then you have done your nuts big time.

Back on board after 6 weeks of only 5 hours internet a week. Local library. So lots of reading to catch up on in next few weeks. seems indeed nothing has changed in this time. I would definately encourage everyone disgruntled with the systom not to vote but to write a message on their ballot paper instead. These messages often get back to the politicans via the scrutineers as I have done this. As it is a secret ballot you can even use the harshest abuse you want. Imagine the uproar if all we millions did this. And even better if they all lost. Yes, you may call me a dreamer, to quote a more famous person than I.

Sadly Scallywag if we vote for them they may think we like them. So better to let them know how we really feel about them. Imagine if every C/L customer told them how we feel. Possibly things may change. As is nothing happens other than to torture us even more.

So unless we can get them to sign an iron clad contract at election time , our chances are slim !!! Personally I think there is very little difference between the major parties . All of them are right of centre , no more good left wing ass kickers around.. Oh did I say I'm an ex Union Official

Only one party has stood for people on welfare and that is The Greens. Greens will field candidates in many House of Reps seats in the 2016 Federal Election greens.org.au/candidates/allGreens candidates for the senate in each state and territory. Rather than writing a protest note on our ballot slip, do something quite different and place The Greens 1 on both your lower and upper house ballot paper. Canada threw out its right wing conservative govt recently, and replaced it with what Australia could identify with a combination of a Labor left and Greens govt. It went to the election with a platform to immediately change the OAP from 67 back to 65 (which it did) plus to run deficit budgets that channeled spending to infrastructure positive programs of increasing spending on education. How anyone on DSP, Newstart, Carers or OAP in Australia would in 2016 vote for LNP in either the senate or lower house is beyond my comprehension. To do so in both houses for the ALP is also courting the devil. I will be voting in both houses for a Greens candidate.
