I finally bit the bullet and emailed the paperwork to have my DSP paid into an overseas bank account.
What is interesting for me to see is how they calculate the adjustment payments so that I end up 4 weeks in arrears, instead of the current 2 weeks, and the lead time from date of issue of payment to receipt into my bank account goes from 2 days to 6 days.
What gets me is that the Reserve Bank of Australia will now have 6 days to play with 1/13th of whatever portion of the $800 million overseas pension payments that are paid 4 weekly and I would suggest that with overnight interest deposits and exchange rate manipulations that the net cost of paying pensioners overseas would be somewhat less than $800 million.
Anyway, my real question is to find out if my overseas bank account details should show up on my Centrelink Online Account details as used to do when my pension was paid into an Australian account.
Cheers and keep safe.

Good luck with that.

Good luck with that. LOL... I was afraid you would say that. Under payments it now has Payment Destination as a selectable option but when I go in there it tells me I can't change anything here because I'm being paid overseas. Duh!

I can't log on at all today. I never bother on a weekend because they seem to do their upgrades or updates on a weekend. Either that or they shut it down and go and play cards. And to think that Hockey wanted to spend 'yay' billion on a new computer system. What gets me about their computer programs is that I have never, ever, ever heard of any pensioner being asked what they think about the system nor what they want to see shown online. The Director of Computer/Internet Technology for Human Services/Centrelink must be on millions.

There's plenty of unsolicited opinions around.... Totally agree Banjo. And most of the 'unsolicited opinions' come from so called "public servants" whether they be Commonwealth, State, Local Government or NGO's. All unellected but they rule us. Politicians are just a laugh. And hey! Its the 'System'.
