After copping fees for way too long from Oz banks, l finally tried to work on better options. I always had what spare bugs l had in ING, gathering dust and little bit of interest. So they got me to open an ATM account to deposit my dsp, it cops no fees/no interest. Then l opened a second account with Citibank, same setup, l cop no fees/no interest. The ing card cops local Pines ATM fee and $2.50 ing fee. The CITI had a bank in AC but now only Manila, l have daily 3000 limit when/if l use their bank, any other M/card ATM in Pines cops local bank fee but 0 Citi fee. Both apps are on my iPod so moving $ is easy, even for an old fella. Hope this helps

Citibank certainly gets good reviews but if they have a branch or ATM outside of Bangkok/Pattaya I don't know of it.

( As long as it's in my account )

I use the one outside ayala Cebu and then walk across the road to BDO and deposit the funds in the cash deposit machine. I have 2 accounts so can withdraw 2×$3,000 a day as long as I have the funds available.

I opened internet banking a few months ago. I can now transfer to my Thai account for a set fee of $22.00. So i will do it once a year from now on as i no longer have to live fortnight to fortnight. Some Thai banks even pay interest but not mine so may look to going to another one although interest at best is peanuts anyhow.

As an expat Citibank was always quoted to me as the Bank to be with. Recently received my Citibank Card. I applied for the benefits included because, I was endlessly chasing up Orbit Remit as to what was happening with my transfers. Today I'm cancelling my account with them as my payment which generated on the 13th October has been finally paid today. Just not good enough. Cheers bear.

A twelve day wait would have me in a state of panic. I'm inclined to give up and just pay the bank fees involved.

I gave them a go because I wanted to set and forget, something WU doesn't appear to do, or at least I couldn't find an option for it on the website. The drop in costs was also very attractive but over the last four months I've spent a lot more time chasing them up than I would have spent just by going online once, every pay day. Errr....but sometimes I'd forget till Monday/Tuesday. My bad! The trial of the new system starts on Friday. Sender's Primary Bank a/c > Sender's Citibank a/c > Recipients Bank. Anywhere in the world and all for free, except perhaps for receivers bank's fees. Many thanks go to the Member who talked me through the whole process! I'm hoping it'll be light years ahead any other method I've tried. Cheers bear

Recently when in Oz i went into the bank and the girl showed me how to transfer by net. So i sent 75,000 baht exchanged in Oz. A$20.00 fee. Yesterday i take my book into Thai bank and only 74,500. Someone has taken 500 baht out of the amount plus another fee of 174 baht. Total of A$27.00. So again they fleece me. Not sure if Oz or Thai bank because Thai girl had no idea why. Will take book into bank in Oz next time. Not the amount but the principle i growl about. Just another hidden fee or? ? i was not told about.
