A 12 day wait is 'unconscionable'. I gave them a go because I wanted to set and forget, something WU doesn't appear to do, or at least I couldn't find an option for it on the website. The drop in costs was also very attractive but over the last four months I've spent a lot more time chasing them up than I would have spent just by going online once, every pay day. Errr....but sometimes I'd forget till Monday/Tuesday. My bad! The trial of the new system starts on Friday. Sender's Primary Bank a/c > Sender's Citibank a/c > Recipients Bank. Anywhere in the world and all for free, except perhaps for receivers bank's fees. Many thanks go to the Member who talked me through the whole process! I'm hoping it'll be light years ahead any other method I've tried. Cheers bear When you sent money to Citibank from your bank make sure it is done before 3 PM EST Or it may not go into the Bank till the following day

I'm going to login and check their fees and charges though because, I think a 1200 Bht fee is unconscionable. If your Recipient has a Citibank a/c it says, "It's Free", because the transfer is Citibank>Citibank. I ticked the box that said "pay in aud". Can anyone enlighten me what "pay by remittance" means and if it is the cheaper option Please. They were the options available. Cheers bear.

W/U is expensive, I was involved in sending money from Australia overseas a while back, $1000 cost $100.
Just as a suggestion, if you had two people who were computer literate, how hard would it be to use Paypal? It would involve your bank to your Paypal to their Paypal to their bank.
Actually, one person could operate both Paypal accounts if the other was not capable.

Bedwin I'm not sending to myself, sending Food/Sustenance to family. Citibank Au (my a/c) to Bangkok Bank (recipient's a/c) Top line of my link it's a $25 fee from Citibank Au to any overseas bank a/c. that isn't Citibank. .The extra must have been conversion costs and Bangkok Bank charges.

Just an idea bear but how about an international bank cheque. If they still exist. But I guess again that exchange rates may hurt and secure post from Oz is probably costly also. Seems they get us whichever way we go. I was going to bring cash back this time but after two big thefts in recent times decided it was better to lose to the banks than risk the lot.

I used my ANZ and i was only charged A$18 Different banks charge different transfer Also it also depends on how much you send Last time was only A$100 next time i will try A$1000 As if only a small amount you loose on the TT Rate Westpac only charge A$10 per transaction as a friend uses them for his transfers to Thailand Bangkok Bank

Results from above money transfer comparison site:- transferwise.com.auI'll give this mob a go next fortnight. The fee will be less than than $4.00. The mechanics are, from a Debit Card a/c > Transferwise Au. a/c + 2 Days, then from Transferwise Th. a/c > Recipient's Th. a/c. cheers bear
