Hi to all.
It is a great forum where a lot of information is shared. Currently I do not live in Australia but have Australian citizenship and arrived to Australia with refugge visa. I have problem with herniated disc which made me practicaly unable to move properly and in constant pain. My neurosurgen says that operation would not help only make condition worse. I will be returning to Australia soon and apply fo DSP. So what would you advice me what steps should I take when in Australia and is any help medical reports, mri images from other country in Australia? Thanks in advance...

G'day doe and welcome. My advice would be firstly find a GP (Doctor) who you are comfortable to form a long term relationship with. Share your overseas medical records with them and be prepared to have MRI's etc. redone here in Australia.
Speak with your doctor and specialists about wanting to apply for DSP first and don't speak with Centrelink about DSP unless you have solid medical support.
Go slowly, good luck.
Cheers bear

Welcome to the forum Doe.
The DSP is a residency based payment and you can apply when you return to Australia. First you need to approach Centrelink and they will give you the paper work that you then take to a doctor who will examine you and refer you for further assessment. Certainly bring any documentation you may have from another country, Centrelink may not accept it but your own doctor can use it to assess your condition.

Hi Doe , welcome
I could only repeat what bear and Banjo have said. Have a look at the impairment tables so you know what is the current state of points issued for your condition. Get the reports and a GP letter that state your impairment have the impact on your function that the table require.
Good Luck
