Spot on Banjo. Never had a problem apart from when I asked a custom officer in Melbourne years ago why very few windows at immigration were closed when there were a thousand people in line. I wasn't happy after finally getting through. She demanded to see my passport in a very unfriendly way. Yes, I was grumpy also. Complaining to customs gets you no where I quickly learnt.

Congrats on your 500 posts nomadic, I see that your member status is upgraded.
Yes, I've had the odd spat with customs myself.

The only customs/visa type folk that worry me are Australian.

Yes i have had several disagreements with Gestapo Australian Customs and won every time. Once i arrived in Darwin airport from Manila and had several ham sandwiches which i packed to eat while traveling with jetstar. Couldn`t eat them all so thought i would keep them until i got to travelodge. Well you would think i had drugs or something similar. They wanted to confiscate the ham sandwiches but i sat there and ate the lot in front of them.(never offered any either).

Thanks Banjo, I didn't notice but to be put in the same exalted class as denis is a bit over the top . How about right honorable because if politicians can say that then surely this disabled dill can also. Also the new air Asia terminal in K.L. is a trap also. As you enter there is a pretend security area so everybody threw their water away. Enter further and needing water for the budget flight i buy a new one. Walk further and the real security area comes up. Brand new unopened bottle in the bin after I tried to debate this with a customs dill. He was about as friendly as a Satan link staffer. So if there are no staff on the first security section keep your water. I did actually also have a good guzzle in front of him.

I appreciate your comments on our journey. Have much respect for you. I respect and admire every member of this forum. I didn't know how the process to become 'exalted' worked and as far as I am personally concerned there are far more exulted members than myself. I have always considered you an exulted member of this forum. I wish you the best for Christmas and the New Year. Take care mate. All the best

Hi all, I arrived back in the Philippines last week after spending 7 weeks in Australia. My stay in Australia was "Crazy" again, sleeping rough etc. It is strange how I revert back to my erratic style of homeless living the instant I return to Aussie. Bit like how they say in AA that if an alcoholic busts after 25 years of sobriety, they almost immediately return to their previous state of drunkenness.
I got a 1 year multiple entry visa at the Philippine consulate in Sydney for $162. This gives me unlimited 59 day stays in the Philippines for a period of 1 year. With all the promos Cebu Pacific/Air Asia are doing it could be viable to do a return trip from the Philippines every 59 days rather than getting an ACR card and renewing visas. The initial Visa renewal after 59 days (with ACR card) costs around 8000 piso from memory.
