Philippines Some surprises, Chiang Mai is actually cheaper than several cities in the Philippines as well as Phnom Penh/Cambodia. I haven't checked out all the numeo stuff but one thing I have noticed in the Philippines is cost of electricity and that food can vary a bit, depending how you eat.

I just got a bag of chopped up mixed vegies for 40 cents. Add a chicken fillet and three nights dinner for $1.40 the lot when i cook it myself Had a delicious pork spicy curry on rice with a fried egg on top for less than $2.00 in a restaurant for lunch also. Very rarely spend more than A$5.00 a day on food.
