Just passing on the news that bedwin came off his motorscooter in Chiang Mai last week, much bruising, possible minor fractures, still in hospital. I've wished him well and a speedy recovery, I suspect that now is not the time to preach about motorbikes in Thailand.

I have a thing called tinnitus which stuffs your balance so I don't laugh nor kick sand in any persons eyes. Kindly pass on my regards to him please and I hope he has a reasonable Christmas. Thank you.

I'm just relieved it wasn't worse Denis-NFA, Thailand has the world's worst road fatality rate and most of them motorbikes.

Please pass on my Christmas and recovery wishes too, Banjo. Luckily Bedwin's a bit of a fathead. That may have saved him, eh ? Luxury ! I have brain damage from heatstroke in my part-time work as a traffic controller from last Summer. I wasn't given regular breaks and now I can no longer speak clearly, and it's getting slightly worse. I think I would have rather fallen off a scooter and got bruised / fractured.....

banjo if you can message to me as to where he is and if you know for how long i may be able to visit him. Not sure as bkk tomorrow and flights back are pang mark mark in high season so not sure if will be on a bus or two or when i will be back.wish him the best from me if you can. P.S. Thailand only last week i read has now gone from number 2 to 1 one worst country in the world for roads. Now past Libya where i don't imagine there are many tourists. And last week officials aimed to lower the road toll over the 7 days of holidays ahead by 5%. Last year in same period there 405 dead. One way was to tell bus companies to not allow drivers who were suspected of being drunk of driving on the 61 most dangerous roads in the country. All other roads were fine though i took it. I read this in the Bangkok post. You couldn't make this up.

I rang him today and passed on everyone's best wishes, he's apologised for not responding but cannot remember his forum password and it's on his home computer. He will have a surgical procedure tonight then go to a rehab place for a few weeks.

Thank you for the update. I hope the surgery is not too invasive or complicated and that he recovers well. With any luck he will make some acquaintances in the rehab facility to help pass his time. It can get rather lonely and boring at some of those places.
Will be thinking of him and wishing for the best outcome and a very speedy recovery.
