I spoke to him yesterday, Wednesday, and he had had the operation and seemed to be OK in general although my hearing couldn't quite understand all he said. Still in hospital but was going to rehab in Hang Dong but can't remember when he was going there. But all sounded positive to me albeit in a not pleasant situation.

When he is back on the horse Im very interested to know whether he was self insured or on a plan and the costs involved. It's a good opportunity to inform others.

first beers are on me bedwin next time but i will get a songtaew to you is better than you getting to me unless you walk. I actually envy you at the moment because it is indeed the silly season. We are currently grid locked in people far worse than Bangkok traffic even. So hang Dong is probably the most relaxing place in Thailand at the moment. chock dee.

Good to hear, take it easy, it takes a long time at our age. I'll try to get down in the next few weeks.

You must have lots of company bedwin as Chiang Mai had the most accidents over the new year period. 400 dead nationwide in 7 days. and still the men in brown stand by and watch on. If you have yesterdays Bangkok post Sunday take a read of Sanook in the Brunch section by an aussie who is fluent in all things Thai. It was about the huge crackdown on the best part of Thailand in street food and zero crackdown on the worst. IE the road carnage as Thailand is world champions at both. Same same Clink- DEFIES BELIEF.

Onya, Bedwin. Just ease into the exercise slowly, eh ? Don't want to bust any newly-formed tissue.
But do keep at it.....
