Knowing that once I am on the old age pension I am only allowed to spend 6 weeks out of the country, I wonder if there is any rules that dictate how long I have to spend in Australia before heading overseas again?

onemore once you are on OAP you can spend the rest of your life out of the country, if that's your wish. After six months, if you have full AWLR, you lose the allowances. The Pension drops to around $830 a fortnight. If you tell them you're going to live OS, they drop it on departure. Why would you bother to do the FiFo to get to keep sixty bucks a fortnight. You'll be paying for the flights I guess. There's no restrictions on how long you have to stay, before leaving but; they may just flag you for residency. If you tell them your going permanently, they can't do that! Cheers bear

I've been away for 5 years now with a voluntary 9 day return to Australia last year.
