Motorbike, or staggering home late at night ?
I have had a number of broken or fractured ribs from Tae Kwon Do many years ago.....I'm tall and skinny, with thin ribs.
Commonly, you get three weeks of pain but feel normal after 4.
Don't think you're safe after 4 weeks though.....it takes another few months for those bones to completely regain their original strength and density.

i was wondering where you were a week ago denis. I just found out that the hardest part after a hernia op is blowing your nose and i hear ribs are even worse for that sort of thing. No laughing either so they say. I think it's all to do with the backbone connected to the thigh bone connected to the rib bone etc etc. Age gets us all. You just never know what will bob up next. Nurse told me most usual cause of a hernia is if your work included lifting things. Courier driver here and 2 friends at post office for years had also. I'm on road recovery and hope you are also. Question banjo puts needs an answer though and as for getting back on the bike if that was the cause i would say better to be a wimp than a fool. Sadly I will need to be a fool soon also even though bicycle did not cause hernia. Hopefully back in Uto-pai/pai-adise in a few days as horses have not kept me very well here in OZ. Caused more agony than hernia.

LOL latindancerNot that I do but I would sooner go out here in Argao late at night than I would in a lot of places in Australia. I'm 64 but my hair has been grey since I was about 28. Far outsky, you reckon some young pricks wont pick on older folk! I hear what you say about watching the healing process. I also used to engage in sport.

I really do have tinnitus which stuffs your balance. Bummer ! Or do you have a balance problem which just occurs together with Tinnitis ? Have you had a good diagnosis of exactly what you have ? Because if you have BPPV or Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_paroxysmal_positional_vertigo you can get a quite miraculous and simple treatment for that. It is called the Epley maneuver : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epley_maneuverIn fact you can look up how to do it yourself on Youtube. Give it a go....it cannot hurt you ! I have read accounts by people who were simply amazed at the fast result....people who had suffered from vertigo for years. I don't mean to be a know-it-all...... I just know a bit about it because I had labyrinthitis and still occasionally get it a little bit, usually as I'm coming down with a virus. Vertigo is just awful.

My stroke also left me with less agility and balance. Sometimes people think i'm drunk when i wobble. I actually wobble less after a beer. Go figure, the brain is indeed a strange bit of jelly.
