Hi All,
Long time no see!
I'm considering going overseas to visit my wife's family for the christmas period. I'm considering between 4 and 6 weeks of time outside Australia.
I know the rule is now 4 weeks. But how does it work in detail?
For example, if you travel for 5 weeks. When does your payment restart?
What if you leave a day after your most recent payment whilst inside Australia? Will you then get 2 more payments?
Anyone with experience or insight on this would be appreciated

There's no reason you cannot travel for 6 weeks but you will only be paid for 28 days. The rest of the time will be unpaid and your payments should restart automatically when you return to Australia. You will be paid as normal, if you payment is due (for example) on the 16th Dec then you will be paid on that day.
Ring International Services and give them your dates and they will confirm this.
