Nobody knows what either hand is doing in this story. The importers, the distributors, NDIS, coppers......everyone has lost the plot. It's always someone else's fault.
And the registration authority are looking into whether they'll give ol' mate an exemption......either it's the law or it's not! $1000 for a speed limiter sounds fair enough to me as well; perhaps at the importers cost or NDIS. Afterall it was both of these entities that went off half cocked.
The stuff that goes on in Australia leaves me speechless but, glad I got that off my chest. Cheers bear

Was just listening to ABC 774 mornings with Raff Epstein. A guy talking about disability perceptions in Australia in general. As he said, everyone can expect to have disabilities at some stage. Age gets everyone in the end if lucky enough I think he meant. He said a lot of stuff about public opinions on the disabled. Maybe as a clever bear, you can find it and link it as I would like to hear it in full again. Maybe I'll have a look for it also. Worth a listen from what I heard.

nomadicthe first bike I had was a fixed wheeler. maybe I was 9 year old. pumped the thing along the road one day but my long pants got caught into the gear and it threw me sideways onto a barb wire fence. By the time I untangled myself and limped back home and they wrapped my blood and gore up I hardly went back near a push bike again!

24 gears, disc brakes these days.Would be lost without it. Both exercise and getting around. Had a few spills over the years. Mostly my own fault with no one else involved. Touch wood, but nothing major which is a bloody miracle in this part of the world. Lots of heart attack near misses though.
