Budget airlines around 13,000+ That's certainly fairly normal mid prices pre Covid, for budget flights. Nov/Dec 2019 when AirAsia were attempting to get their setup going into BNE they had round trip flights out of CNX connecting in KL with only 3-4 hr layoverf Bht 10,000. Bookings were subject to CASA Approvals though; then along came the lurgy!! Cheers bear

I booked our flights in June/July at a cost of around 73500 pesos About 2k Australian one-way flights only. It may have been a little above the odds but it's with Singapore Airlines which is one of the best around, and only takes around 13hrs including layover. I also booked well in advance to secure the flights, for mid February 22. I'm happy with the deal Cheers Itsa

If it's too good to be true it probably is..... nevermind. Just had email from AirAsia and got excited till I did a booking. Never flown that way before but it looks reasonable to me. Cheers bear

From then on it was AirAsia mostly except for two return trips with China Southern who were flying into BNE at the right price, instead of OOL (Gold Coast) AirAsia's normal touchdown. Those two trips took me places; had a few hour layover in Taipei where I experienced driverless trains. Then had an overnight layover in Guangzhou where they laid it on. Three day (72 hrs) entry and shuttled to and fro from a flash hotel in electric buses. Amazing!! It was early January and absolutely freezing. People tend to have a whinge about AirAsia's small seats, the fact that meals are add on's etc., but if you're feeling flush you add on a bit more and get a whole middle row to yourself. Small prices, small seats for small people. Like the slogan says though; "Now everyone can fly." Awarded best budget carrier for a long long time now. Cheers bearl

Cheers bear 3,000 baht BKK to LND. Not possible. If so book me on it now. No budget airlines fly that route either. A$150.00. Dream on. And 13,000 to Sydney is the opposite one way. Paid 15,000 last year BKK-MEL return with Singapore.

Paid 15,000 last year BKK-MEL return with Singapore. nomadic , do you need to go to Specsavers; or just pay much closer attention to posts, rather than being argumentative and negative. If you did, you'd have seen the final price was Bht 22,000 and while budget airlines may not be flying that route, KLM Royal Dutch, Air France & Finn Air, their partners most certainly are. Also, further discounts will be applied on the payment page. Or do you think I just made the whole thing up by doing a quick graphic design job, specifically to make me look like an idiot. Luckily I've got friends to.do that for me!!
As far as your Sydney quip goes; that return fare was Bht 21,000, so not a great extra premium on your Bht 15,000 Melbourne trip of two and a half years ago, irrespective of who your carrier was. Not when you consider the current state of play in the air travel industry, and the prices people have been paying. Cheers bear

There's certainly been a lot of more reasonable cost flights, even domestically.
Jester, Qantas, Fiji air, Singapore Airlines and pretty much every other airline has issued sale flights.
The issue at the moment I think us what the quarantine requirements for each country are. I don't think I'd be going unless it was somewhere I had free/cheap accommodation for the moment until things settle down.

I just got new glasses. Clearly say's BKK to LND o/w 3,119. 7,000 to L.A. No, 21,000 to SYD is OK, I agree. Always thought around 20,000 to anywhere in Australia on a full service airline was OK. Remember I was FORCED to become an expert for 8 years in finding cheap flights. 4 times a year for 8 years just to say hello to you know who. And no Air Asia until last 2 or so years.

Those driverless trains are great, I'm pretty sure I experienced one years ago at the Kuala Lumpur Airport...unless I was hallucinating. It was on a stopover flying from Philippines to Australia on Malaysian Airlines. The driverless train went to the complimentary over night accommodation at the luxurious 5 star Sama Sama hotel. I was beside myself, I just couldn't believe how ritzy the hotel was. And the food! Will never forget that flight. If anyone from Khazanah Nasional is reading this; Thankyou Malaysian Airlines, you treated a poor disabled pensioner like a Sultan! Cheers J

OH, to be back in my fav country. You have brought it all back to me. Changing terminals on those trains. But no 5* for me. A padded seat all night on occasions only. Or floor one night. But Philippines airlines did treat me to a 5* in Manila one night rather than a couple of other times on the floor.

It used to go and return via Melbourne. I always got a free hotel room for the stopover, I wouldn't say 5 star but still very nice. Trouble was it was near the airport which is miles from the city so there was nothing to do.
