I used to fly Malaysian regularly, they had some good return prices and were a comfortable and reliable airline. Also, they flew out of Adelaide, going through Melbourne on the way north and direct to Kuala Lumpur on the return flight. These are Flight Centre deals, a much maligned company by some regular fliers but there's no denying that the have the cheapest flights on a regular basis. Malaysian also supply a free hotel if you have to overnight in KL. Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City $992 Sydney to Bangkok $998 www.flightcentre.com.au/promotions/asia-flight-sale?utm_source=int-edm&utm_medium=int-text&utm_campaign=fc-AsiaFltSale-171111-nopriceRemember you get a decent free luggage allowance with this, with inflight meals and movies.

Let google be your friend. I shouldn't need to point out to man of your considerable experience that it's a day to day proposition. (I nearly added "and of mature years" but I'm too nice a guy. ;D
Actually... If I wanted to look for a flight from Bangkok to anywhere I'd cruise those little travel agents around Sukhumvit Road and bargain hard.

Which air line has the cheapest ticket BKK to Syd or Bris direct flight? ..hi 'banker' not exactly 'direct' but Royal Skies are always resonably priced..dry flight and prayer before you lift off...but blessing the flight aint such a bad thing in these troubled days, with less chance of a 'fundamentalist' going nuts! BKK/Brunei/BNE about $670 return. Stop-over 4 hours...if next day they will put you up free in their hotel which includes brekky and transfers, or hotel suite inside airport if Transist passeger. VOA about BRUN$5 from memory. Hope this helps. ROD.

Thailand Australia via Brunei? Sounds interesting, it's about the only country I haven't been to in South East Asia.
