Just my opinion but I dont completely buy the whole 'everything is the previous governments fault' when the last 2 years have had no comparison in history.
In terms of hiring staff, I notice that in this instance it is mostly related to hiring more compliance staff to inform people they are being overpaid and recouping debts.
Maybe I'm unusual but if I even had a whiff of thinking I was being overpaid I would stay on the phone all day rather than have a debt.
I truly hope things under the new government do change but so far all I see is complaining to justify a lot of expense on taxpayers with little relief for pensioners of any kind (particularly DSP).
