Medibank have year round travel insurance, offering unlimited medical and hospital coverage, for about $420pa.
Anyone who has looked at health coverage overseas will know it's more expensive than that so it may be worth looking into.

Thanks Banjo, that a winner, I didnt have a clue they did it so they should market it better. I need to buy it
from what I see it wont cover a visit to a doctor for a cold, however it should cover hospital costs for any major illness eg malaria? and of course car or motorbike accidents
