My daughter is working on an application for unlimited portability. Her partner is overseas, and she wants to go and stay there for a while.
She was granted DSP in the past month for mental health conditions, and the evidence we used must have been fairly clear because it was approved quite quickly (3 months start to finish). We had a letter from a psychiatrist, as well as a more in depth assessment from her clinical psychologist.
We can not access the psychiatrist again as they were in the public system through a clinic, she has been discharged from the clinic now, and she thinks that particular psychiatrist has left there anyway.
Do you think it would be ok for her referring GP to fill out the portability application? If it has to be done by a doctor, then the clinical psychologist can't do it, and we don't have access to anyone else for now.
We have applied for her file through FOI to make sure she has 20 points in one table, but it hasn't arrived yet and she's eager to get on with the application as she wants to go and stay with her partner.
Her employment consultant exited her, telling her over the phone that they couldn't provide services since she had been assessed to have 0 job capacity. I read that if we get a copy of the JCA that is faster than getting the whole file?

I believe a doctor can fill out the paperwork but the supporting evidence of diagnosis will have to come from a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. There is questions in the I/P paperwork asking is the diagnosis supported by further medical opinion (supply the psychiatrist name here). I genuinely believe it will support your application more if you could get a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist to complete the application.

G'day zillah welcome to the forum. GP's, 'clinical' psychologists or psychiatrists are all able to fill in the forms and as Top_dog said supporting evidence should come from either of the latter two. Speaking with the facility should enable you to receive a copy of her clinical file to use for that purpose. Possibly the biggest thing to get over the line is to use their own Centrelink Speech as used in the Disability tables. Currently though the tables are undergoing their ten year review so it's difficult to say if there'll be any overlap and no one has seen the new ones as yet. Cheers 🐻 Here's a link to the current/old points tables:- dspoverseas.proboards.com/thread/7402/table-points
