itsmylife08 Philpost is VERY unreliable unless you use EXpress Post and get a tracking number. If it fails to arrive soon I would call Citibank on 00-61-2-8225-0615 and have an emergency card made and have it sent to your Phil address via express or Courier post and make sure you get a tracking number. When you call Citibank Australia you will most likely be redirected to the Citibank Office in BGC, Taguig, Manila and will be talking to Filipinos. Just got to persist with them and make sure they understand you urgently need acccess to your money. You can call Citi with a Skype subscription or the local carriers do pretty cheap overseas calls. For example you could subscribe to Globe GOCALLIDD, 200 pesos will get you a few long calls to Australia. Another EXCELLENT option is to link your Australian Citibank account to a Remitly service and transfer funds to the Philippines. You can do cash pickups at Palawan Pawnshop, BDO and bunch of other places. Remitly can be reached on www.remitly.com/au then follow the prompts where you send money to the Philippines. To get your Remitly account varified you will need to do a few ID checks (maybe take a photo of your passport with the phone you call them on). Mulloway that's the exact successful process I had to undertake back in 2012. The emergency card was useless for any ATM though but the details on the card came in handy when calling them up again and getting them to send my money to Western Union. On the phonecall I was talking to people in Warsaw Poland. Bank of Queensland was my bank back then but they seem to have done the emergency ATM card through a 3rd party company. They soon sorted it all out anyway. Philpost?! A different occassion when I had a bank card sent to Philippines it did not get delivered. I checked my internet banking and the mailman tried to use it at the pizza restaurant down the road! I forgive him though as he was probably getting paid 500 Pesos a day to deliver mail on a pushbike in 35 degree heat. Using a courier is a must. Cheers J

On a better note with Philpost the same year I sent a big box of Brandy to Australia no problems, took 4 months but the box got there so there is no problems with outbound packages and mail. About 20 bottles of good Brandy for about 60 Pesos each and the Philpost shipping fee was only around 800 Pesos. Thanks Philpost.
Cheers

Even with the Aussie mailman sending my mail Express air freight as I track it, it gets to the Philippines and becomes unable to be tracked, so I just have to wait until it arrives usually 7 to 10 business days.
And then pay 120php for the privilege of picking it up from the post office.

I hope the forecast is right regarding the AUD becoming 80 cents to the USD. Will be able to buy solids intead of soup. Don't get me wrong I love a nice hot soup either chicken and corn or cream of mushroom served hot with a bit of fresh buttered bread.
Cheers

I have just paid for Aust post to redirect all my mail from my Oz address to my Thai one. Had never heard about it until recently. But my mail that clink said would be sent to my P.O. box wasn't. it was sent to my house address but then returned by the owner as no longer at this address. (a long story why). I was then told clink will not send health care cards to boxes even though they told me they would. So hope all things now end up in my Thai letter box. As for ex rates. In oz was 20 baht at a city exchange box. At the airport, the thieves were offering 18 only. At BKK airport 21. In town 22.5. Buyer beware.

From my observations over the last six months, I couldn't refute his claim Banjo . Couple of beers depending on size... Ten to Fifteen each. Couple of nice burgers as per the attachment and a few chips. It's the cost of living crisis; alledgedly. Glenmore Tavern, Rocky prices below and big city Brissy prices aren't mouth watering, but they're certainly eye watering!! Cheers 🐻

The prices were from a tavern in Rocky and I've edited my post to reflect the difference between the two now. Another example...... Hair cuts in the valley; $ 40 with a pensioner card, one place only. Up to $ 120...... Found a lovely Japanese woman in Chinatown that does buzz cuts for a tenner. Made my day..... Cheers 🐻

Tell me it ain't so.... Mate just came back from Perth, lunch in the pub... Two beers, two burgers, and a bowl of chips. $90 A pint in MEL was $10.00 in a bar. I ate every meal apart from 2 from Coles. Great ready-made salads and a bit of roast chicken for less than $10.00. Pre-made sandwiches and wraps are similar. Usually, lots of things are marked down towards the end of the day also to sell them fast. Burger king meal is less than $10.00 also. But Perth always was the most expensive for beer when I was going there `12 years ago. Darwin the cheapest. Supermarkets rule for me always. Bottle shop beer also.

I do it myself now. Cheers J

I pay 55 Pesos for halfa liter here. Redhorse is strong beer too at nearly 7 percent, 2 bottles in the evening at 500mls each and im ready for bed. They had Heinekens for 37 Pesos each the other day in 7 11. Cheaper than local beer. And meals, I had fish and veggies for Good Friday lunch for 80 Pesos, it was nice too. Was talking to someone in Caboolture north of Brisbane and she is paying 600 bucks per week for rent while i'm only paying P6500 Pesos per month here in the metro. I'de be buggered if I had to do a reversal and go back to Australia. No thanks too deer.Cheers CheersJ
