Heard on the radio the otherday that there could be a war by 2025 because of the tensions between the U.S and CH.
There are 3 new U.S military bases here and the Pres. of the PH has recently gone to the U.S to stregnthen PH US ties.
Make sure your in a location with good access to food water and medications and have the emergency phone number of the Australian Consulate/Embassy in your country on hand or and saved in your phone.
Stay safe everyone O.S.
Cheers

I think that there is every possibility of conflict between China and the U.S. in the not-too-distant future. There has been saber-rattling on both sides for a long time with neither side relenting.
The Philippines has a long history of cooperation with the U.S. on matters like this, I believe it's in their interests to continue to do so.
Recently a friend of mine who was a Gulf War veteran decided that it was time to return home, and his family will follow him this July. While not saying anything upfront they did say that matters could get worse very quickly and gave us an open invitation to join them there.
That's all for now folks take care and stay safe.

Agreed bear, neither side would gain from open conflict and the more sensible on both sides are well aware of this. The Chinese seem to be doing a pretty good job of buying up the region anyway so why fight for it? The Pacific region falls more and more under Chinese influence as Australian avuncular colonialism fails and Beijing offers real investment, jobs and infrastructure.

For my 10 cents worth, if they do clash there will be nowhere on Earth that is safe. Let alone anyone trying to live a normal life. Will it be a conventional war? If so where will it be fought? If not conventional then the religious U.S. nutters will get their wish of all gone. Like Ex rates and the weather; not to be worried about.

It might start with conventional warfare, but if either is getting the upper hand expect some nutter to press the button. You may be right nomadic we could all end up like shish kebabs well done at that... Cheers Itsa

Been talk all day today about OZ changing all their military strategy. they talk as though we will be invaded by China and we can beat them if we do this. Longe range missiles are the trend it seems. Who are they trying to kid? We can beat China. And why would they unless the U.S. with us of course starts it? OK, back to the Ex rates.

I heard on the wireless that CH don't want to go to war. They want to be allies and have ties with all so they can do more business through international trade.
Commerce not conquest
Anyway, it's ANZAC day today.
Lest we forget.
