Some bad news, I'm not sure if many of you remember Lynne Mann. probably one of the worst victims of Centrelink's DSP portability purge, but she passed away recently.
Of all our stories Lynn's possibly effected me the most, she suffered appalling treatment but never found us until she had gone back into the work force, she was bullied into not making an appeal, managing a Guest House at Katherine N.T.
When she got the Age Pension she went back to Bali and ran a monkey rescue center.
We kept in touch over the years and I considered her a good friend.
So sad today.

Nice obit.
Lynne Mann Obituary, Death – The world is a little dimmer today as we mourn the loss of a remarkable soul, Lynne Mann, the founder of the Bali Monkey Rehabilitation Centre. Lynne’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her and in the realm of animal welfare, where her dedication and compassion shone brightly.
Lynne’s lifelong mission was centered around the well-being and protection of rescued long-tailed macaques in Bali. For decades, she tirelessly worked towards this noble cause, dedicating her heart and soul to these intelligent and sensitive creatures. With around 40 macaques currently under her watchful care, Lynne exemplified boundless compassion and selflessness.
Her legacy extends far beyond the physical sanctuary she built; it is woven into the very fabric of Bali’s wildlife conservation efforts. Lynne’s tireless advocacy for the rights and dignity of these macaques set an enduring example for all. Her work wasn’t just about providing food, shelter, and medical care; it was about giving these animals a second chance at life, a chance to experience freedom, safety, and love.
Lynne’s impact reached not only the macaques but also scores of dogs she cared for, extending her kindness to another beloved species. Her work epitomized the interconnectedness of all life forms and the importance of extending our compassion beyond our own species. The Bali Monkey Rehabilitation Centre will forever stand as a testament to Lynne Mann’s unwavering dedication. It will continue to serve as a sanctuary for macaques in need, a place of healing, and a living tribute to her boundless love for animals.
As we bid farewell to Lynne, let us remember her not with tears of sorrow but with tears of gratitude for the profound impact she had on the lives of countless macaques and dogs, as well as on the hearts of all who were touched by her work. Her legacy will live on in the animals she rescued and in the hearts of those who carry forward her mission of compassion and care for all living beings.

best wishes banjo. I originally thought I was the only one being tortured needlessly by Centrelink. This forum soon showed me mine was minor compared to so many others. So many decent people are being persecuted by clink for no logical reason whatsoever.
