History of half yearly pension increases

Hi guys, sorry for my absence.
I was interested in looking at how the pension has increased over time and found this table. I find it quite interesting looking back at how much it grew each 6 months. We seem to have been quite fortunate in the past 3 years compared to some of the meager increases we were getting a few years back. We seem to have increased 3000 dollars in the last 3 years, compared to only 1000 from march 2014-2017. I expect the next increase will probably be reasonably large too, although not as big as the last couple of years, based on the CPI and inflation rates since June. It's interesting to see the historical increase. The thing I would encourage people to consider is that the CPI doesn't reflect real inflation. Consider the ridiculous increase in the price of housing since the 80's/90's for example. Anyone not already lucky enough to own their own home on the pension is really on struggle street, unless you move to Whoop Whoop, far away from family and services like hospitals in most cases.

Most pensioners I know have been tightening their belt to some degree.

Given the politicians and public servants recent increases it will be interesting watching the dribble over our March 2024 increase.

Some are getting an increase equivalent to our full pension of $26k or thereabouts. The gall of them they should be forced to live under our conditions for a while to realize what it's all about

I don't pretend to understand it and won't even try to, but the Brits & Yanks seem to be getting reasonable cost of living increases, plus energy support....
