Hi My dad apparently had portability approved after his interview back in December but we never got a letter or phone call letting us know that it was approved. We found out recently after calling the international services line and was told yep you were approved on this date is this the norm? I thought you would get a letter or a phone call letting you know the outcome

Was about a 2 minute phone call

There is probably Hank and a few others who are actually human beings in the department and many doubt that Hank is a real human anyway. Good on your Dad. I signed it all over to my son years ago and have nothing to do with them. Cheers Denis-NFA

When I won my appeal for it at the SSAT and I was sent the finding by mail from them but not a thing from Centrelink. But if Centrelink granted it I would expect to be told. I think he should ask for something in writing. Preferably go into an office to request, it if it was me. Defies belief he was never officially told.

I agree with you nomadic but if you have a myGov account it will tell you... I actually did receive a phone call in 2013 and I was very appreciative. I didn't ask her age but I'm sure she was of that age when things like that were just normal operating procedures. In the brave new world they will microchip you and you'll put your finger in the socket to get the latest...

G'day ledge to the Forum. You've received confirmation from Centrelink International Services and as we've recently reported the department is seriously understaffed and your dad's interview was under three months ago, which is the normal timeframe to receive notification. Plus the Christmas holidays....... The answer to your query in how to receive a letter and further tips on how to protect yourself is in the linked thread:- dspoverseas.proboards.com/thread/7897/inform-centrelink-overseas-trips-ipAny further questions or concerns, please, fire away. Cheers 🐻
